A lot of people blueprint carbs.  Getting them to sell you the "GOOD STUFF" is sometimes hard to do.  At CHECKERED FLAG that's not a problem.  Just as we do with our engines, we offer several carbs as listed below:

BLUEPRINTED STOCK CARB: We start with the old "flip choke" style carb.  These carbs are a little more expensive, but they flow more air.  Each is machined and fitted with a blueprinted offset throttle shaft and #6 butterfly.  We then flow the carb and work with the butterfly angle to get the maximum air/fuel flow ratio.  $165.00

"BIG DOG" STOCK CARB: This carb has a few areas enlarged to WKA specs.  We work more in the "grey" areas to guarantee this carb has the highest air/fuel ratio possible.  Tech men wouldn't approve of what we do but they can't catch it!  We use a "hand picked" butterfly but the real secret is that we use a BIG DOG PERFECT CUT throttle shaft.  Keep in mind that every carb doesn't meet the criteria to run with the Big Dogs! If it doesn't meet our specifications, we don't sell it as a Big Dog.  These are the carbs you find every now and then! $195.00

"BIG DOG" TILLOTSON: Adjustability and Consistency!  These are the two complaints we found with most Tillotsons and we eliminated both as being a problem.  We completely re-machine the bore of the carb and add a venturi.  This increases the air velocity which in turn creates a low pressure around the dump tube and allows more fuel flow.  We replace the hi-speed needle with a less tapered needle which makes the carb less sensitive and more consistent.  It also comes with a filter adapter that's blended into the carb body.  $175.00 (368 & 360 ltd. carb) - $195.00 (380 open carb).

"BIG DOG" MATCHED FUEL SYSTEM: This is our BIG DOG Tillotson bolted to our intake and machined as a single piece.  It is then blended together and polished. The throttle shaft and butterfly are thinned and also polished. This is the unit some folks pay as much as $400.00 for. $240.00 (368 Ltd.) $268.00 (380 open).

"BIG DOG" PERFECT CUT THROTTLE SHAFTS: These are the shafts made from scratch. We start with a solid round shaft and cut it the way it should be.  A definite increase in air flow. Remember, we had the #1 old style cut shaft. THESE ARE EVEN BETTER!!!
